Performance during the first few minutes in the games.

Settings were mostly at maximum (no vsync, msaa x2, texture filter x4)

  • You don't have mostly at maxium settings :/ and why did you record that "loading" shit?

  • @isokessu true, i could have bumped up AA and texture filtering to ridiculously high values. vsync is also not enabled. but on a small 15" screen you hardly need that much AA (imho) and i generally dont care about vsync. Those two are the settings i generally care the least about since they just kill performance at minimal gain.

  • @isokessu also, the loading times are part of the performance

  • what do you expect with a crappy 9600? :) especialy if you record at the same time

  • @chockn i don't expect much from it nowadays. but since the windows versions of these games all run flawlessly i wanted to contrast that to the mac version performance.

  • wow, HL2 on a Mac. I guess they are using OpenGL and wrote shaders in GLSL. They should do one for Windows.

  • Looks alright, especially compared to what I had to run them on when these games came out :p - besides it's still in post-beta mode, I don't really expect the source opengl port to be fully done before Portal 2 comes out (okay maybe before :p )...

  • wsuperbroombroom, first of all i dont like to be called a bitch. you should be that mature if you want to answer to somebody else and be taken serious. second of all, i wouldnt have cared if the poster had used a camera to record what he plays. (if the camera is any good, its totaly ok for me)

and lets not forget the most important thing of all. apples OS isnt nearly as far as windows is in terms of gameperformance. and thats where drivers have to be optimized.

  • @superbroombroom it's cool. criticism is appreciated.

  • @superbroombroom

    Ur right
