Darren Harper Interview

Darren Harper is one of the 'real'est people I have ever met. If you want to talk about a rags-to-riches story in the works, he is it. Darren's life is something you expect to see in a film or Made-for-TV movie. With everything Darren has had to over come in his life, you can understand why he is pushing so hard to make this dreams a reality. When you know you nothing to lose and everything to gain, the sky is the limit to what you can accomplish. When you hear some of the stories about his childhood, you will completely understand why he is hustling so hard to make his dreams a reality.

Darren was a fun person to work with on this project. It was easy for all the guys were friends and all they had to do is talk, and Darren is really good at that. I wouldn't be suprised to see him on a TV or even hosting his own show one day.

We filmed this segment with Darren while he was in the middle of working on 'Get Familiar'. This was the time he started getting a lot of coverage in the magazines and I wanted to help him out and keep the roll going for him. Plus, I could have not thought of a better person to interview for this project.

Special thanks to Darren, Chris, Jimmy and the whole crew involved who braved the 100F (40C) DC summer heat when we shot this.

Darren is talking about the state of skateboarding today. There are the people who are super thugs with all the bling one week and tight black pants the next because it is the new hot thing to do. I bet everyone knows a kid or two like this. It is not about Dustin at all. You read too much into the piece and pulled your own conclusion out of it.
