In this second of four short videos from a custom neck carving workshop held this April at the Whetstone School of Lutherie in Brattleboro, VT, Michael Millard, Froggy Bottom Guitars founder, discusses the braces and relationships between the neck, string height and the body, stressing how pertinent these all are to the stability of the instrument and how it is going to work in someone's hands. It's a beautiful bit of exposition that reveals his mastery and ability to articulate his experience. He's built something on the order of 5,000 guitars and it shows.
