The thing is a plain computer, maybe the BIOS is kind of different to load the thing but to be honest I don't see it to be so complicated to have to replace it completly everything seems to be commodity hardware

This Happen to mine... but all I did was change the battery and check my BIOS to make sure it was correct.. and it work perfectly

The fastest and first thing to do in my opinion is check your main hard drive if it sounds like it is dead then find a replacement drive format it install it and then re-install the bios and os. At the same time blow all the dust out with spray air and replace the motherboard battery. Then you would have a like new machine. You can also attatch a USB port to the motherboard header. That way you can use a usb floppy drive to install the drivers and a usb keybaord.

I just picked up a new motherboard from mackie parts and installed it myself. If you are familiar with the inside of a pc you should have no problem.

I have a friend who has one, his problem is that he can record all he wants (up to 90mins total), tho unable to send it to the removeable drive without it causing an error.
Anyone else had this prob? I'll ask him the exact error, he uses it without keyboard, mouse and monitor, which I intend to change in a few days...had one of those old 5-pin DIN keyboards in my archive!

I hope ours doesn't do this...
How did you resolve the problem....we have the same thing going on.

It worked out to be a motherboard problem...Spare parts for this unit are unavailable and consequently we had to buy another unit second hand.... Good luck with yours. Sadly I think you will be left with only one option, like me, and that is to replace the whole unit.
