for anyone who's interested, noel uses distortion from his marshall amps for rhythm and an ibanez tubescreamer for solo boosts. I would assume the clean sounds that you hear from this are from using the amps footswitch to switch between channels. The second half of the solo and the outro have lots of delay. If you find the right delay time, you can play this amongst other classic oasis songs (eg: Swamp Song, Columbia), as it would seem that noel rarely changes the delay time on his Boss DD-3.

this is just amazing to play along to a fantastic chord progression, wonderful guitar melody..........and that solo is just incredible. just reminds me of Britain in general for some reason. the effect on the second half of it is out of this world. sounds like an instrument crying to the heavens. absolutely brilliant.
