These wild toads are being fed prepupal black soldier fly larvae that I've raised for bio-composting. The larvae eagerly consume all of my household food waste and then before they transform into adult BSF I feed them to my pond fish, wild birds, and other wild animals. As in nature some are allowed to develop into adults to repeat the cycle.

Watch at 1:10 where one toad is getting ready to catch a larvae when another one beats him to the punch. :)

  • can u feed the toads 2 tha fish.

  • I kind of doubt it. I know that my fish don't like toad tadpoles...

  • About how many larva can an adult BSF lay? Or haw many adults do yo need to keep to keep up a health colony?

  • One adult BSF can lay 500 or more eggs. In most cases you don't keep the adults, you rely on the wild population to mate and then find your BSF unit to lay their eggs in. It's possible to contain the adults in a screen enclosure or a greenhouse, but usually it's not necessary. An actively feeding colony of BSF grubs is a powerful attractant to the BSF females looking for egg laying sites so it's pretty easy once you get established.

  • u guys are gay who ever made this :D

  • If by gay you mean happy then I say thank you sir!

    PS. Don't you like toads?
