In Almaty, as in many cities, there are homeless children who have fled abusive families or other domestic problems to fend for themselves on the streets. On the eve of International Children's Day, Yermek Boltayev of RFE/RL's Kazakh Service got to know one such teenager, 16-year-old Sava.

there is no law to protect children, they are just invisible in KZ. I feel ashamed at the same time I feel so sorry for those poor kids. they are human being too, the KZ society should take the responsibility to those people, but they don't...I think this is one of the kz culture maybe, they just don't care as long as they themselves lives are comfortable.
