http://www.erinhuggins.com for the pros or the lucky one's who have a reformer at home. here's a quick little workout.
if you don't have a reformer you should totally try it at a local pilates studio. strengthen, lengthen and tone the body without bulking up! a great resistance exercise. Pilates is more than just getting killer abs! Pilates is a full body workout. Pilates works to strengthen abs, legs, arms, back. Pilates helps to keep you grounded, correct posture and destress you! Anyone can use the pilates reformer. It's great for anyone wanting to lose weight, get in shape and live a healthier lifestyle.

  • GREAT workout! I'm a beginner, but I do have a reformer at home. I have a rebounder as well, and I'm wondering, if I add 20 minutes of jumping (target heart rate at 10min), will that be enough cardio to lose body fat? Should I add ten minutes as I become stronger? Thanks!!

  • 20 minutes should be enough cardio is you are also doing weight training! if anything i'd add weights not more cardio... unless it's interval training.

    i am a 15 year old boy i'm looking for a way to burn my lil bit of calories in the same time to have all kinds of muscles well seen but not soo buffy i dont like buffy look

    just a stretched fit body i swim actualy i'm level 8

  • i would add in some weight training. don't lift super heavy weights though... that's how you get the "buff" look. just need to lift weights that are heavy enough to be challenging to lift. also, abs, you've got to do some ab work! good luck!

  • that's the beauty of pilates. it lengthens muscle as it strengthens!

  • Oh hey! Have you thought about - fast abs magic (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now)? Ive heard some interesting things about it and my BF got hot Six pack abs and lost a lot of weight with it.

  • you don't need to do any direct ab work to get abs.

  • You do need cardio (aerobic) exercise, combined with nutrition that encourages weight loss to lose excess body fat, and you need resistance (such as weight lifting or your reformer exercises) to sculpt muscles. Cardio has other benefits, so I encourage people to be active (20-45 minutes a day). If you have other goals, you may want to increase your cardio as well.
