Though nothing excuses the actions of the tenant, you must accept part of the blame here. First off, that house is a pit. I would suspect it was a pit even before the tenant moved in. Maybe a nicer pit, but a pit none the less. Most of the problems could have been avoided with bi yearly inspections or even a yearly inspection. Obviously you let her move in and then just collected your check with no thought of what was happening with the property. I believe this is called a slumlord.

I don't mean this to come out the wrong way but if that person lived there for 3 years how did you NOT know the damage that was going on in the home? Didn't you ever go to the property during that time? I mean even a once a year walk-thru or something.Even as little as coming to do "routine maintenance" like changing furnace filters would have showed you that there was a problem. I feel bad for ya and the headache this put you through but as the property owner you should've been more on the ball

@derekmorris89 You my friend are the most ignorant idiot on here. You realize if you put more money into a house, you don't have to rent it out to shit hole tenants? Give me a fucking break you dumbass. I've been doing this for years, and know what kind of people you can rent these places to. I don't give a shit if the tenants blew the place up, and told her to go fuck herself. If you have a nice place, you rent it at a good rate, and people who can afford it have a less chance of trashing it.

@wooterzhooterz You're a fucking idiot, plain and simple. It doesn't matter how cheap the property is. The people living there clearly had no common sense or respect for property they did not own. The damage shown in this video is more then enough to piss the land owner off. It's a more then worthy excuse to be pissed. You obviously don't own a home, or you would clearly understand the stress this women has to deal with now.

That's just nasty!

Since insurance companys charge more on home owners policies if pet dogs will live at the house.....in most states.....landlords have legal right to forbid pets in rental property. Even cats, which in my opinion are 10 times worse than dogs as far as damage to property. Yes, I am a landlord.

@susanrockz This may be old, but I'm putting my two cents in now. It's not about a crappy attitude, it's about having the decency for yourself to actually put effort into something that you want to pay off. I'm not into the whole "putting $1000.00 down on a shithole, and hoping to make a quick dollar and move just anybody into a house" I put time, money, and actual effort into it, and move people who I know will treat the place right, and not turn it into a crack house.

@wooterzhooterz yeah, you are more of a slum lord. Sorry, about your luck.
-
@wooterzhooterz - Jeez. you'll never be my tenant. what a crappy attitude. i'd rather have the animals than some smart ass with "the world owes me" attitude. you are a loser. plain and simple.

@inkey2 Lol idk, property managers do it. However Ihave to foot the repair bill.
a cheap shithole like that and had to pay more than 300 dollars a month, I'd light the place on fire. You people who think I'm going to spend 500 dollars for a turn over, rent it for 600/mo are just ignorant. There isn't such thing called a "quick buck" lady. Quit bitching about your property looking like shit due to bad tenants, and put some effort into turning the place into something decent enough to live in. Then maybe you'll get a resident who respects the place a little more.

place. If they really mean so much to you, take some dap (caulking), spread it out, and paint over it inside the scratches. Those peel and stick tiles in the kitchen are pathetic. If you're truly going to complain about kitchen flooring being ruined, show me some 12 inch ceramic tile busted. Otherwise, take your ass to walmart, buy yourself a 40 pack of adhesive tiles and lay down 4 more to fix your problem. You wonder why your rental property looks why it does? I'm sorry, but if I moved into
