It's nice art. If the surface was the actual map of DC from out of a standard map book, it would be very easy to see, say, the drop off from Capital Hill "inside" 9th Street versus beyond 12th to the Stadium...or to identify Brentwood (the area between Catholic U and Galluadet) or Georgetown/Foxhall/Palisades versus Dupont Circle. Or the peaks east of the Anacostia...like Deanwood, perhaps.
It'll be cool to see versions over time to identify trends, too. Cool work!
