A waltz clog danced by FiddleKicks on March 26, 2010 in Keyser, WV, accompanied by English concertina & piano to the tune Sweet Jenny Jones and presented by Highland Arts Unlimited at Potomac State College. Our wooden shoes were all hand made in England. The choreographer, Laura Robertson, is the dancer wearing the white clogs. She includes the Marley Jump Rope Waltz in our performance. www.fiddlekicks.org

  • Laura reports that these are traditional steps, some modified by her slightly.

  • This vid brings back unrelated memories for me. When I was in college I played bass in the jazz band. Once practicing on that stage there was only person in the audience listening to our rehearsal, he was a doctorate in music. After one song he stood up and yelled "I didn't hear one right bass note that whole song". I was the only bass player. I never liked him.

  • Loved it! Keep on cloggin'!

  • Yes, most of them are traditional, but some of them were collected by Tony Barrand in England in the 70s. Also, the jump rope is Anna Marley's innovation, and most of the steps done with the rope are from Anna's jump rope waltz clog routine.

  • Do I see a bit of Tony Barrand / Anna Marley in this?
