  • BEST EVER GOAL FROM GEORGE.

Especially as SHEFF UTD were top of the

league and had not been beat for 13 games.

    IF I RECALL.

    RIP GEORGE BEST.........

  • Football God!

  • So free with the ball, it looks like he is running without, such accuracy, control, pure class

  • Imagine George Best and Duncan Edwards had been in the same team, invincible.

  • @MrMjewel It's also the fact that Best was this genius naturally as a 15 year old with no real training that players like Messi and Ronaldo have in aboundance today - they also have the advantage of having seen out the full careers of great players before them, so they will never be as unique. I just believe any era Best was something else, playing in the 60's or playing today along side Messi.

  • @Queenwraith , yes I have seen it before it,s fantastic. I actually saw him play as a starry eyed kid at Old Trafford ,he was everything your dad and grandad says.

  • @MrMjewel Type in 'Johan Ceder george best tribute' as an example, and watch some of his skills.

  • @MrMjewel came in,but even then if you look through old footage for the 2-3 years when at his peak,he did original things with a ball that I still haven't seen the match of to this day. If you judge Best on his greatest 2-3 years there was never a player as good or skillful in my opinion even from alot of footage never mind seeing him play. He was just magic. If he was the same age as Messi today with the training, fitness management he'd have Messi. Best was a true footballing genius.

  • @MrMjewel He just used to toe the ball up in the air whilst moving his whole body in motion like a hurdle over the defenders tackles - he adapted to anything in front of him in those times. I've never seen Best play live, but my dad and grandfather have and they say his his balance and pure skill was just electric, supernatural almost. I love Messi, but calling him better than Best just isn't right. Alot of Best's greatest early skills were never filmed as match of the day came in

  • @MrMjewel You can say what you want about Messi. I'd almost go as far as saying he's a genius of modern times, but, and it's a big but: A player like Best with no ref protection 'still' managed to ride the harshest bone-breaking tackles week in week out, against some real hard defenders in those days.
