Request from Slovenia. Part 1: Meas. 1 to 40.
Level 10 (ten years of "serious" piano playing)

In the Presto agitato third movement, "... it is vital to the color of the main theme here that the arpeggios should be without pedal and that the staccato bass should make its dramatic menace without disguise." Donald Francis Tovey

The "Moonlight Sonata" refers to Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 14 in C-sharp minor "Quasi una fantasia", Op. 27, No. 2. The first movement (Adagio sostenuto) is most well-known. This is the 3rd movement (Presto agitato).

  • could you please do the same thing with la campanella? pleaaaseeee!, with this video I was able to learn the 3rd mvt, so it helped a lot..rather than learning it on my own..

  • @MarkusBMW3 sorry, that's too difficult for me ;0

  • o cmon are you serious? :D are you trying to say that you think that's possible and normal to study such a quite difficult beethoven's piece by watching it somebody's playing on youtube slowly :D and I cant believe you have such a patience yourself :D

  • @straizys my tutorials are for those who follow the score and can pretty much play the piece on their own. most of us need occasional reference on notes, timing, and fingering. you are correct in saying that many who watch this video should not ;D

  • I think i am going to learn to play the Right hand first alone, Left hand later.

Is this a good idea to learn it by my method?

I mostly learnt songs by learning the Right hand, then the Left. That's how i learned how to play Fur Elise, in the hall of the mountain king, and The Entertainer. I just want to know your thoughts from other pianists out there.

  • @MrClasicgamer strictest teachers demand a separate-hand approach. try it on an easier piece and you will see there is more to this method besides practicing.

  • Slowly but steadily lol at least I have a good memory so I can remember all this

  • @straizys I'm playing 1.5 years now (selfstudy) and this video has helped speeding things up pretty good. Now i can play this whole part at half speed of the original. So why don't you go watch video's that ARE for your intellect.

  • this song works great for me. i dont know why, but i play better with faster songs. when i play slow, i find i get tense and stumble. when i play fast it becomes very smooth. kinda stinks tho. there are slower songs i try to play and just murder them haha. just about 6 or 7 months playing now.

  • You have beautiful hands. Very slim with long tappered fingers. Too bad you are married.

  • This was such a CUTE video. I laughed a lot. I had plenty of time for a 3rd movement because it was soooo slow. LOL.

Seriously now. Thanks for this video. IT was so funny! I mean that in the nicest way.

  • This is GREAT for fingering. Just what i'm after. Thanks.

  • Possibly the worst set of tutorial videos on youtube. You suck. >:Z

  • do i really need to have ten years playing piano to play something like this ?
