Another user posted some Gillan-era Sabbath claiming it to be from Chicago '83, but upon examination was just another rehash of Worcester '83. Not that this is a bad thing, but the big difference between the two is that Worcester is an FM recording, while the genuine Chicago 1983 actually comes from an EX quality audience master tape. The intros are also different, because Chicago has the Born Again "devil-baby" crying over the Supertzar intro tape. That's a sight I wish I could of seen.

Anyway, the taper just uploaded his master copy to DIME (big thanks), and I thought you all might want to hear how it sounds. In my opinion, it's the best audience tape from the tour, and even better than a couple of the FM recordings. Enjoy!

NOTE: You may need to turn up your speakers. The audio itself isn't as loud as I would of liked it to be. Sorry for the incovienence.

  • If it was so embarrassing, how come Iommi and Gillan rerecorded 'Trashed' for the Gillan's Inn album? They don't seem to be too embarrassed about it, nor should any real Sabbath fan.

  • Sorry, 500 characters just isn't long enough sometimes. One last thing, the mindless drivel over who was better during their tenure in Sabbath gets very tiresome, to say the least. Just respect it all for what it was, each "era" had their own highlights, lows, and everything in between. I'm not a fan of only Ozzy, Dio, Gillan, Hughes, Gillen, Dave Walker, or any other one individual. I'm a Sabbath fan first and foremost, and I can see the beauty each member had to offer in their own way.

  • I have the Born Again album, and it ROCKS! I also like hearing live performances from the time when Ian Gillan was with Black Sabbath. Embarrassing? NOT! For anyone who does not have Born Again, they should get it.

  • BRUTAL

  • ian gillian ruined sabbath for a moment, but you cant denie

ian gillian is jezus christ SUPERTZAR.

    lame.

  • Born Again = Ozzy's favorite Sabbath album without him so FUCK OFF TO ANYONE WHO THINKS THIS IS AN EMBARRISMENT

  • @XxsoulsuckerxX

Shut the fuck up! Born Again is just as good as the Ozzy era. If you can't accept Sabbath without Ozzy, you aren't a true Sabbath fan.

  • Not too fuckin shabby.

  • Wow, this is rare. The midget in the devil-baby costume were only at a few shows I think. Crawling on top of Stonehenge. This is one of Sabbath's greatest tours, definatly. Even if Geezer doesn't think so. The 'Born Again' era is awesome. Gillan is a fucking legend. He and Iommi on the same stage = perfection, well nearly.

  • @XxsoulsuckerxX 'Born Again' is better than anything Black Sabbath w. Ozzy did after 1974 anyway.

  • anybody got any footage of the intro I would love to see it!
