A Sikh Journalist, Jarnail Singh, throws a shoe at the Indian Home Minister P. Chidambaram on April 7, 2009 in New Delhi at the Congress Party's Head Quarters . He was angry because when asked about one of the person accused in the 1984 Anti-Sikh riots, which took more than 3000 casualties in Delhi alone, got a clean chit from the CBI and why was he running with a Congress Party, the minister simply decided to avoid the question. He threw a shoe in protest, not mainly aimed at the minister. He later apologized, stating that his main aim was to get attention to his, and countless other Sikhs, question. He was detained, and later released and no charges were filed.
