Attempting parallax scrolling on ZX Spectrum

Here is a small video sequence of some old code I wrote when I first got my MB02+. The result is really crappy but anyway I uploaded

Hi Bruno. I was checking some old MB02+ disks I found this piece of code I wrote years ago. Capturing is really crap.

The TV screen has probably a different refresh rate than the camera. Even if is has the same rate, you would see a black bar scrolling across. Imagine the problem for sync-ing TVs in a TV show.

There's actually some pretty reasonable parallax on the Spectrum port of 'Shadow of the Beast'. There's also parallax on 'Tir na Nog' which was published back in 1984.

@xzaero666 I don't recall what I meant exactly. Reading it back I make it sound like it's difficult. Although I don't know how it's done I meant to say that this is an issue TV studio's have/had to deal with. Cool to get a comment on a quote from 2 years ago ;)

battlezone was so good it was purchased by the military as a simulator trainer, but do remember that battle zone was custom expensive hardware as nearly all arcade hardware was, this video is being coded by a guy on a much less powerfull home computer, and to be honest its pretty damn skilled.

3D existed before that. It's just it wasn't that popular because of hw limitations.

Check a very popular arcade game called Battle Zone. I think it's from 1979 or so.

i really liked that, it makes me think what sonic the hedgehog would have looked like if it had been on the spectrum.

there was a spectrum game i forget what it was called that had amazing scrolling i think it was called P47 (or something like that(it was a shooter.
