9th Infantry Division: Mobile Riverine Force, Vietnam War

Mobile Riverine Force supported an infantry brigade and an artillery battalion using a variety of modified landing craft, support ships, and specially designed assault boats. This strike unit was a self contained amphibious assault force, complete with all support elements except aircraft. A brigade from the 9th Infantry Division was chosen as the infantry component of the Mobile Riverine Force. This barracks ship was known as APB.

Wow, we sure have a lot of vets on here! Lol. Whoever you are, you all should be honored and respected for your service. That was a bloody war and it's a real shame that fine men such as yourselves fought and died in it, only to face disrepute from citizens back in the States. They had no right to treat you in such a way for only you knew what it was like there. In fact, I'm writing my own screenplay on the 9th Infantry Div. It's called "Old Reliables" for a reason.

C/4/39 67-8 Thanks for this video and for the USS Mercer County. After being a moving target, waiting for RPG's to find us, the safety of the ship was the only place I could relax while in VN.
