My mom broke her wrist 2 yrs ago. After a $600 ambulance ride and sloppy treatment she couldnt work for 1.5 yrs. Eventually needed surgery. She was very close to homelessness. We're still waiting for the alleged Socialized Medicine to kick in and pay what cost her several years pay because she had the misfortune of slipping on ice. So sick of right wing BS. When a rich man's house catches fire, socialized fire department puts it out for free. I don't hear anybody complaining about that.

I totally agree about the free trade agreements and globlization, BUT...money directly handed to car companies was used to build factories in other countries. money handed to the banks was never used to help anybody. the banks were never made to obligate any agreement to where the money went (pretty sure it was meant to pay toxic bonds). you dont hand however many billions over unless you know where it's going , UNLESS you were told to by the people who lobbied you since you became a politician

terrapanda is saying that the gov obviously DOES NOT JUST pay for it, if you're sick or injured and you can't afford it! That's what's being referred to. I've been billed for the ambulance WITH insurance. NO WAY I could afford it. Obamacare IS NOT Socialized medicine (see, oh I don't know...England!!!) Healthcare is a human right and a Constitutional right. Ever heard of the "right to life..."? Love all these right-wingers who claim to be Pro-Life, but clearly CAN't STAND the LIVING!
