Take a look at this short domestic tag-on sector operated by United on the Boeing 747-400. Filmed from the economy plus section see the boarding, pushback, taxi, takeoff, approach and landing. This flight number continues on to Los Angeles, although the aircraft goes on to San Francisco with another United aircraft operating the LAX flight. Service is pretzels and drinks.

  • I'm guessing the flight was near empty for the MEL-SYD sector?

  • @chikkychak1 about 30-40% i would say

  • how long was the flight?

  • @mtan247 60 minutes in the air

  • pretty stupid that united airlines 747's don't have personal tv's in ecomeny for long flights such as syd-lax or sfo

  • @qantaspilot95 Yeah, well you get what you pay for. United is usually cheapest on Aus/Usa flights. Both are overnight flights anyway and i try and sleep more than anything. but i watch the overhead movies at least they are on clear LCD screens

  • 1:33- The Tiger Tower can be seen in the background XD

  • I think United Airlines should retrofit its 747s with ptvs because they are doing the long flights with them. Plus also some partners off the United Airlines is operating the 747s with ptvs in the economy class wich is a case with All Nippon Airways, Singapore Airlines and Air New Zeland. Even Asiana Airlines who is in the same alliance with United Airlines is having a 747 with ptvs in the economy class.
