How to teach your cat tricks : "Walk with me" (easy)

I am not a professional trainer but I love playing with my cats. These series of videos will show you some tricks you can teach your cat, either easy ones or hard ones.
As the moves are pretty fast, they have been slowed down.I Hope you will like them.

Is there a special cat for training ?
You need to have a great relationship with your cat. Do not try with a wild cat, or another who easily bites. It would be harder.
Kitten are more receptive.

I personnally choose Diablo ( the red one, on the videos) for the majority of tricks because he is an amazing cat.

My cat does not want to do the trick...
You need to be patient. He may want the next day or within a few weeks. It has to be a game betwen you and him/her. Repeat your gesture again
an again, try another day or choose another cat. The two key words are "patience" and "reward". The reward can be something he/she likes (food, a cuddle or a caress)
Never forces him/her to do the trick.

Is it hard to train a cat ?
It is harder than training a dog because cats are independant and may be stubborn. When a cat dislike something, he will notice you! But if the cat trusts you, he will follow your orders or gestures.

What about a real show in front of an audience ?
Cats are way more fearful than dogs. The main thing that will frighten him/her is noise. Put him/her some music and sounds such as laughs, claps while you train your cat...

How many cats have you got ?
8. 3 males and 5 females. I can recognize them each, even by their miaowing, and they follow me everywhere... even in the bathroom.

Your cats are fat !
Yes, I know... They spend their time eating mice and birds.
