@deltadart10 actually if you remember correctly she tore herself from her egg sack, plus it was destroyed by riply anyways, and also the queen couldn't have put the egg in the med bay because she was too busy trying to kill newt. so Alien 3 makes no sense what so ever
Actually, I've just realised Ridley Scott is ignoring the mythology of every Alien Sequel with Prometheus - he's stated in a recent interview his new movie bears relevance to Alien only, which is great, because then nothing post Alien matters hahaha - it never happened, and Ripley is still floating with Jonesy somewhere in hypersleep :) YAY!!!!
navigation time records to make the ship look like as if it just reached lv-426. from here, the marines wake up n none the wiser. by the way, they r sent by weyland-yutani as an insurance policy in case burke failed to bring back the alien specimen. even if he succeed, that will be a bonus specimen.
a group of stowaways, consisted of spec-ops team whose mission is solely to bring back an alien specimen. they used the extra cryo stasis pods in the infirmary intended for patients. initially they were hiding. after the marines slept in the their pods, they programmed the marines' pods to sleep longer than it should. when they finish everything, they go to sleep.
after the ship reached lv-426,they landed 1st n managed to retrieve 2 alien eggs. they return, hide the eggs,n change the ship's
I think it was the queen. The egg has her glue-goo all over it. And actually, there were two. The queen egg and then a male/drone. Unless queen eggs carry 'twins' - to make sure the species will go on. ???

Why don't the writers of Alien III just explain this? Put us out of our misery please!

i believe the queen brought the egg, as she might have had a "emergency" egg.

I would say the queen in a hurried attempt to continue her species, generated not 1 but 2 eggs in the wheel well of the dropship.

This is one of the reasons why this movie shouldn't have been created at all.
