Opened as the largest, most comprehensive Program in New Jersey for homeless veterans whose lives have been seriously impacted by post-traumatic stress, depression and other forms of chronic psychiatric illness, our 95-bed transitional housing facility is located on the grounds of the Lyons VA Campus in Basking Ridge.

Community Hope helps veterans overcome homelessness through the comprehensive services we offer at Hope for Veterans, including case management and recovery services, computer training, employment services, and transportation. Upon graduation, we link them to permanent housing and community-based services, the program has helped more than 300 veterans rebuild their lives.

The program has been acclaimed as a model for other communities to address homelessness as the 2005 recipient of the prestigious national Community Partnership Award from the Mutual of America Foundation and the (NJ) Governor's Excellence in Housing Award.

  • Also, Community Hope, in partnership with private developer Peabody Properties, has been awarded conditional approval by the Veterans Administration to develop Valley Brook Village. This “veterans village” will consist of 63 units of apartments and townhouses for homeless veterans and those at-risk of homelessness as a result of post-traumatic stress, traumatic brain injury and physical disabilities incurred in combat.
