01. Joe Strummer & The Mescaleros - Shaktar Donetsk

Live At The Bridgewater Palace Theatre, November 17th, 2002. The band would go on to play four more shows before Strummer's death a month later.

This video is notable for the airing of several infrequently played songs: Coma Girl, Get Down Moses, 1969 (an Iggy & The Stooges cover), and a somewhat retooled Police & Thieves.

Also, there's nothing I can do about the compression problems with the video. Compression artifacts are inherent to the source, as is the mild high-end audio distortion.

I love Joes warm up routine - he's just buzzing and so up for it as usual - a huge contribution to music and so many peoples lives, too big a mantle for anyone around now to carry - let's hope future generations appreciate what he left behind as much as we do. RIP.
