  • im curious as i learned these blocks 15 years ago, yet the way i see blocks now are taught differently, im interested in the style of this tae kwon do and what it is exactly is it older, itf, something specifically different

  • You never see these blocks used in a real fight. Not even the olympic tkd team uses them. Maybe they are intended to be used against a person weilding a blunt object like a stick or something.

  • I have a 1st degree black belt. I studied Tae Kwon Do in my teens. Now I am in my 30's and I cant do the advanced kicks anymore but I can still do the basic kicks and hand techniques. I have moved on to boxing and Judo/JiuJitsu but not with the same time and intensity I put into TKD. Sometimes I feel like it was a waste of time in TKD. Are these blocks something that would be used in a real life situation? The only one I have ever seen used in real life was a high block.

  • how could it help you in a rewa fight though? I am a second degree and just think this is the art part of the martial arts. although the 45* angle of the high block helps.

  • You were very helpful and I could understand you, it is hard to understand my teacher's instructions! Thank you! :)

  • thank you :) very helpful

  • I have been looking for videos to help my son learn these basic moves. He just began taekwondo and struggles with the details. Your instruction is EXCELLENT -- so clear -- and the best I have found on Youtube so far. Thank you!
