I"m afraid of needles. I'll admit it. My mom is a nurse. She used to talk about how when she was a kid her dad was a human lab pathologists ( studies body tissues like blood, urine, tissue samples) and whenever the kids got sick he'd take their blood. So of course they'd hide when they were sick. Mom told me this when I was sick and it always made me afraid mom would want to do the same thing to me, or give me a shot or something. Thankfully she never did or has.

It's been my experience that if flu shots are done right, they don't hurt. What sensation there is would most likely come from the medicine entering the body, not the needle through which the vaccine is delivered.
