Here's the new improved faster spin with the 50 cycle pulley and belts. The spin speed reaches 750 rpm now which leaves clothes quite damp dry after.

  • Eddy, My washing is squeeling real loud and it's not cleaning the clothes correctly. Towels seem clean when we remove them from the dryer however they have a foul or musky odor to them when we use them. The repair man is ordering a pully, idler and a belt. Do you think this will solve my problem?

  • @KarenAllbright That may solve the squealing and poor performance, but that won't help your mold/mildew problem. Are you only washing with cold water and using a liquid detergent? Hot washes with a good powder detergent and a bit of bleach for the whites and you'll never have the odor problem. Also, leave the washer lid open to allow it to dry out after each load.

  • Hey Eddy, this video is no longer available. Could it be the server having problems or else the max. posting limit has been reached?

I know of someone that lost all their videos posted when youtube went through some recent changes. - Mike

  • Hmm, this is the first time I noticed this. Thanks for letting me know. I will have to re-load it.

  • @psycoblade Actually, anything over 1000-1100 RPM is just not really necessary. My Samsung spins at 1300 RPM. It may not hurt the laundry, but there is a point of effectiveness.

  • I had a crappy 1994 Maytag washer for a few months before I got rid of it!. Nobody told me the machine wouldn't fully pump out into the drainpipe if it was 5 feet high! I really got on Maytag's case! Thankfully they are now quality Whirlpool Corporation products!

  • Why does it spin with the water still on? I have another washer brand and it drains the water without spinning so it kinds of intrigues me why does these machines spin and drain the water at the same time xD

  • oh ok thanks.

  • @cphifer5115 I've never seen them myself anywhere on the internet. They look exactly like the usual pulley only it's bigger and heavier, both pulleys being somewhat larger. The belts too are slightly larger than original. The larger pulley spinning at the same motor speed is what gives the higher rpms in both agitate and spin.

  • @eddy1210 could you tell me where i could go on the internet to see what these 50 hz pulley looks like on the machine so i could better understand what makes it spin that much faster.

  • would you happen to have the part number for these new pulley and belts...i would like to get them for mine..thanks

  • Hey Ed -

Where exactly could I get a 50 hz conversion kit? (I can't recall if you mentioned before if they can still be purchased) Are they still readily available.

Man that pulley sure makes a marked improvement in the spin--that tub gets up to speed noticeably faster. And the agitiation is

definately faster too, yet still MUCH more gentler than a fast choppy stroke Whirlpool d.d.

    Thanks.
