after watching batman and robin in the theaters, i gave up on the series franchise.
batman and batman returns kick ass, and can live up to any superhero film.

he owned the role in the dark knight, nicholsons portrayal fitted "Batman" very well, as far as loyalty to the source material goes the '89 feels a lot more like teh comics, whereas begins and dark knight make a more believable character out of batman, where leder fits in perfectly

there are actually 6 live action batman films exclyuding dark knight
in 1966 there was the batman movie starring the cast from the 60's television show and if you wnat to be more technical batman had a movie serial in the 40s

Around that time frame? I could see it. He was actually one of the first choices but couldn't since he was committed to "Lethal Weapon".

Pretty good review dude. Saw the Dark Knight. I liked it and it was a enjoyable movie. Ledger did a very good job, but I have to say, Nicholson still did a better job in my opinion. No disrespect (just WAY too much hype for this movie), but Nicholson just nailed it. Michael Keaton also happens to be my favorite Batman. And I LOVED the soundtrack. Good job

I know; no I can't imagine that at all! Burton was raising some interesting candidates.
