  • conservatives have Dan Quayle, Sarah Palin, and George W. Bush. We had a typo.

  • Do you have to take classes to make arguments THIS bad!?!?!?Please back up that claim with a minutia of evidence : )

  • People who vote Republican aren't ignorant. They're morons.

There are plenty of liberal economists, which you would know if you could read.

  • Don't you think this is a little... politically biased?

  • Bush is a social, not fiscal, conservative. Supply side economics has never faltered. Your lord and savior Bill Clinton advocated supply side economics, passed free trade legislation (NAFTA, WTO) and welfare reform under his administration. The median yearly salary in Singapore is $11,549. and $33,216 in Hong Kong. The U.S. median is $42,000. The 2 most economically free countries in the world, that have zero natural resources between them, have citizens earning 1/3 or 2/3 what Americans make.

  • Bush was elected by conservatives, so I hold conservatives accountable. Rubini did too predict the meltdown, use the google. Supply side, trickle down, laffer, whatever you kooks call it this year (the name changes every time it fails), HAS been totally discredited. Go read about our nation's massive wealth distribution. Singapore has a highly educated population with a median income of about $6,000 a year. Sounds like the sparrows are still waiting there too.

  • George Bush spends like a drunken sailor. He's not a conservative, I don't care what anybody says. Nouriel Rubini predicted no such events lol. Paul Krugman and Kenneth Galbraith didn't even win nobel prizes. And the proper name for "trickle down" is supply side economics! And it clearly does work. Look at the Reagan/Clinton years. Look at Hong Kong, look at Singapore. Then ......look at the economy under Jimmy Carter : ) There are no Hayaks on the left, not Milton Friedmans of the left.

  • Dont underestimate Sarah Palin in the VP debate. She will surprise people. I dont think she will beat Biden, but by doing better than expected, she might win over many votes. After all, she is practicing a lot right now with the Republicans. And I am a Democrat, so dont write back thinking that I am Republican. I still call John McCain, John Keating Five McCain and point out Palin's rape kit controversy while she was mayor. (Rape victims were paying for their rape kits in her town.)

  • I'm just citing the polling numbers: non-college graduates and high earners both prefer McCain.

I wish the GOP had actually listened to an economist during the last 8 years -- especially a liberal like Nouriel Roubini (who predicted the entire meltdown) or Paul Krugman. Don't forget, John Kenneth Galbraith was a liberal. He once said Trickle-down theory - the less than elegant metaphor that if one feeds the horse enough oats, some will pass through to the road for the sparrows.
