I HAVE A QUESTION, I HAVE THE SAME MACBOOK PRO. MY MACBOOK PRO IS 2GB I WANNA INSTALL 8GB is possible? or not.. please answer me..

@MegaTechie The maximum RAM for the MBP mid 2007 'Santa Rosa' model is actually 6GB, though Apple officially supports only 4GB maximum. Many people have had success installing and using 6GB in their MBP, I'll be upgrading myself very soon.

Yes, my computer worked fine. They might have been talking about an older model.

Mine is a 15 inch MacBook Pro, 2.2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, currently running 10.5.8. I bought it July 2007.

I just did some research, and apparently OSX can take up to 64 GB ram. I believe max RAM is a a software limitation rather than a hardware limitation. However, if it was Apple employees you were talking to, they would most likely say the max is 3. If you want to try putting 4 gigs in your computer, you don't have to worry about it frying. Any unrecognizable memory will just not be used (if you put in 4 and the limit is 3, the OS will only recognize 3).
