This music brings back many wonderful memories. My father use to sing this song to me when I was a little girl, & often took me & my mother polka dancing. Though my parents divorced, my father still took me dancing every now & then. He was a very good polka dancer & women were constantly asking him to dance. Of course I didn't like having to share him - lol. He's been gone 16 yrs now. How I miss dancing with him! Thanks for sharing the video - you brought some needed SUNSHINE to my day!

This guy has been around since I was a kid. My parents always played polkas while I was growing up. I'm 50 now and still love this music. Go Frank!

He used to come to the area where I grew up and play for weddings! It's so nice to watch him again on youtube. I have many of his records.

Tonight, I'm revisitng my past. As a child, we would go to the family weddings and they always had a Polka band. They played at Plonja Hall in Manayunk, Philadelphia. The soind of the drums and horns blaring around he hillside, ah, the memories!

Part of Yankovic's excellence is his ability to handle the sound system perfectly every time. I've never heard a bad recording. You can always hear the banjo perfectly...everything perfect. Not the best voice...but the best sound - !

Sunshine, I LOVE YOU!!!
Frank Yankovic was big time back in the 50's he had 2 million selling tunes on the charts and appeared on all the popular TV shows. he made frequent appearences in Hollywood and all around the country. He played on average 300 jobs a year back then as well.
Frank and the band made some recordings with Doris Day singing on them. "You Are My Sunshine", the Pumpernickle Polka" and "Comb and Paper Polka" and yes, they were all Polkas.

Great singing!! Who's the fella on the second accordion?

That's Joey Miskulin on the second accordion who in later years had the Miskulin - Trebar band and now is with the Riders In The Sky group. He played with Frank from the time he was 13 years old.
