WTF Is... - Duke Nukem Forever ?

TotalBiscuit takes a look at the first 45 minutes of Duke Nukem Forever (after the opening bit you saw in all the demos and the previous demo commentary). Can it live up to the hype. More to the point, can it be a decent game on it's own merits? Find out here.

FYI : Thankfully, the giant orange glowy objects can be turned off in the menu options, under "Game Hints". I have no idea if this also turns off the tutorial messages, hopefully not.

There are two more videos to come, one singleplayer further into the game with final thoughts and one multiplayer.

@slask25 He's complaining about it not being a traditional Duke Nukem game which would feature nonlinear level designs with hidden areas and a focus on violence, instead it features closed level design with bad timing, as soon as you get your guns they're taken from you.

Jesus fucking christ. This is the first video I've seen of him where he sounds like a broken record and a whiny child. So according to his logic, unless you shoot things every fucking second in a shooter game, it's a bad game. WTF? Scripted events are here to stay, deal with it. A lot of those old shooters where quite bad, don't even try to deny it. I grew up with them and yes, quite a few of them, after doom started the sordid thing, outright sucked bloody balls. Yeah, not his best work this.
