In the early morning hours of Saturday, June 18, 2011, fire blazed through a portion of Welland's history...the vacant Welland High and Vocational School building at 200 West Main Street. Flames raged well into the evening hours requiring the combined efforts of 3 fire departments to battle them and make sure adjacent properties did not fall victim to the tragedy. In the course of fighting the fire, crews were forced to rip open parts of the building, after which, a city demolition order was issued requiring the owner to have the rest of the building toppled within 30 days. This, surely, was not the way the citizens of Welland, and the Niagara area, would have wanted venerable WHVS to wind up her illustrious history. A history we now proudly present as a tribute, and a memorial, to Welland High and Vocational School. To enquire about a full length DVD contact merritthousemedia at 905-732-6333
