Although in 1994 it was widely reported that the refugees fleeing into eastern Zaire (now Congo) was creating a humanitarian catastrophe, the crisis continues today unabated. Reaching epic proportions of casualties, the crisis in the Democratic Republic of the Congo has seemed to vanish from the mass media of the world. Scores on UN reports have chronicled a genocide surpassing that of the holocaust.
