Audio from the August 17, 2011 Sirius/XM satellite radio broadcast of the Opie and Anthony Show with special guest Jerry Springer, host of his eponymous talk show and of the game show Baggage on GSN, arguing politics and social obligations with show co-host Anthony Cumia.

I edited out Springer's opinion of the Carter Presidency because it added little to the conversation, thus the static noise.

Springer totally pwned Anthony in my opinion.

I do have to admit that Springer definitely out debated Ant in this one. However, I am still not totally convinced. I think that Jerry Springer is looking at the problem in too narrow a vision, and doesn’t see all of the other additional costs that are implemented on the consumer and others through higher taxes.

Theres an episode of This American Life called "So crazy it just might work" where a university professor comes up with what he thinks is a cure for cancer, and while there was a lot of potential, he had to stop his testing process partly because he ran out of money and so nothing became of it. what jerry is missing is that when someone is dying of cancer its not because (and I have family members who died of cancer) its not that... oh we didnt give enough money - its fucking SCIENCE AND OUR DNA which is the reason.

if they gave aids research billions and billions of dollars we still today might not have a cure, because just by giving a guy money doesnt mean he find the answere. its very,.very complex our dna and research on viruses.
