In the 1960's, President John F. Kennedy challenged the fledgling NASA branch of the government to build a rocket that would transport American to the Moon. This rocket was completed, launched, and brought American astronauts into space in 1969. Those days have long past, but with the 2011 Chevrolet Corvette, its nice to know America still builds rockets.

  • @vaggstyl German cars don't even really hold up to the power the ZR1 brings to the game, and Porche has already been blown away in tests and races a plenty. The only car Japan really brings to the game in the Nissan GT-R, and it just doesn't compare. Not even in the same ballpark. Less power, less handling, less everything. The ZR1 is really the King of the Hill right now, and I'd like to see a Ferrari try to take it away.

  • @vaggstyl The Ferrari 458 and the ZR1 can be compared to a Snake and a Mongoose. The snake might be more agile, more ability to make quick turns in tight places, but the Mongoose is just as agile and if not a bit faster than the snake, and the mongoose wins almost every time, the 458 being the snake in that analogy. And with the Ferrari F40, you claim the ZR1 to be a straight-line performance car, but that was the F40 in a nutshell.

  • @vaggstyl I beg to differ. In the 1960's I do believe it was an American Ford GT40 that wrestled the Le Mans title away from Ferrari. The Dodge Viper ACR has been clocked and raced against some of the fastest Ferrari's ever built and won, as has the ZR1. The ZR1 and ACR and I daresay with the right pilot a Ford GT could and have beaten Ferrari's around the Nurburgring, Monza, and Laguna Seca, some of the hardest tracks to race on in the world. Get your facts straight my friend.

  • @vaggstyl The ZR1 and the Viper ACR have beat ferraris, mercedes, bmw and subarus around Nurburgring and Monza. Both known as some of the most challenging racetracks in the world. In addition, a ZR1 or ACR is cheaper than any new ferrari. You're entitled to your opinion, but dont make inflammatory statements with NO factual basis.

  • >that awkward moment when a 20 year old Jap box can be modified to beat a corvette, and still be more reliable.

  • @AutoMotive78 u shithead..u really dont have an idea how quick a Ferrari is..any Ferrari..ZR1 might be quicker on straight, which i doubt, but when it comes to turns it really cant even touch the 430 or any other Ferrari as 458 Italia or '92F40...only in cornering/turning a car shows its real value speed and power..americans,classic shiheads..think big and crap!No american car can be as good as an European or Japanese is..shitheads!

  • I have a few muscle cars other than Chevy, but when I saw this commercial I wanted one. Awesome commercial!

  • The music in the background is by John Fahey. Title: Desperate Man Blues. Oh, the irony! Beatiful!

  • this is the best car commercial i have ever seen.
