In the summer of 2010 Forest Foundation intern Charlotte Wright of Tufts University interviewed participants of the Lawrence, MA mentoring program Stand & Deliver. Founded by Ed Warnshuis in 2001, the program gives over 200 Lawrence Public School students a mentor every school year. Stand & Deliver uniquely practices the corporate campus model, meaning student participants are bused to a nearby corporation once a week for one-on-one mentoring sessions. Data proves that Lawrence students who participate in Stand & Deliver have higher GPAs, higher attendance rates and higher MCAS passing rates than their non-participating peers.
