  • @barrythechupacabra Hey! I'm not Irish and still love this song, mad respect to Horslips! Music has no nationality... ;)

  • This is a trad-rock version of Seán Ó Riada's traditional Marcshlua Uí Néill, about the march of Aodh Mór Ó Néill down to Kinsale to meet the Spanish in 1601, isn't it? Have a listen to Ó Riada's tune and make up your own mind.

    ...and The Lilac in Carn?

  • This is sick.. amazing! Never heard the original. Brilliant song.. so intricate.

  • @Cliathairi metaphorically speaking...

  • @DCLsMusic yes it does.....

  • When we were weans and Horslips used to play Culdaff Arms we used to hang around the village to hear the sounds and especially this tune.

    Wonderful memories.

  • I really can't understand why this riff isn't in the greatest riffs of all time! At least top ten!

  • Gotta give props to the four poxmen of the horslips

  • If not the best irish band then certainly the most original, good guys, they always gave some time after the gig to their audience. You could actually get to talk to them. Try that with Bono or Van.
