Mother 3 Beat Combos

Doing those combos to the beat of the music can be confusing, maybe this video will help.

I'm no music expert, but the basic principles will help you pull of 16-hit combos.

There are actually some enemies with "odd beats". That is, their "heartbeat" will skip at certain points, and the music will either change, drag out, or have an addition at those points. It's fixed points, but it does happen.

There's also some enemies with unique music and beat patterns.

Also, in some cases, you encounter enemies with different heartbeats as well, IIRC, and they don't always match the music.

I know what you mean, like the Batangutan enemy, it's music starts off very slow, but gradually gains tempo.

And of course there's enemies that totally have random patterns that are difficult to pick up on.

You have to appreciate though, I made this video like 2 days after the translation was released. :)

Ahhh, mother 3. Your combo system frustrates me, but intrigues me along with your plot and ability to avoid fainting with your hp meter.

@RedDekuScrub If you have a homebrew enabled wii, you can run all kinds of unofficial software like emulators and home developed games, or even watch DVDs.

Google "ModMii", the ModMii thread on GBAtemp is a very easy way to getting started with homebrew on your Wii.

@robot8664 It's not that hard to reach the Pork Tank in one day if you're good.

It's not really difficult, just time it with the principle beat of the music. If it gets faster, slowly speed up, and vice versa. I guess it's a lot of easier if you've been playing music for your entire life. It's probably a bit easier if you're playing it on real hardware vs an emulator as well. :)
