Herbert the Timid Dragon and Other Tales (Part 1)

Its my pleasure to present to you a personal favorite of mine in my VHS collection, a Golden Book Video from 1985, entitled as "Herbert the Timid Dragon and Other Tales," formerly released as "Three Mercer Mayer Stories." This is presented exactly as the original VHS presentation.

Part 1 covers the first half of the "Herbert the Timid Dragon" story. Helmets, swords and a Princess in distress thrill Herbert's imagination. But how can a dragon who fears his own shadow become a knight in shining armor? Through a series of fortunate misadventures, that's how!

BTW, that hip little orange dragon narrating the story is named Diddly.

YES! My mom gave these tapes to our piece of shit cousin, for her kids, but then she turned around and sold them at a garage sale!!! :-(

I think they should make an actual movie of Herbert The Timid Dragon, probably computer animated, with Roen Atkinson as Herbert and Eddie Murphy as Diddley

This is just a guess but I think that since the Princess sounds like Angelica from Rugrats, she was probably voiced by Cheryl Chase. Also, I think Diddley was voiced by the late Lou Rawls, since he sounds somewhat like Harvey the mailman from Hey Arnold.

What If They Made Otis The Timid Charizrd As A Story Remake Of Herbert The Timid Dragon You Know Otis The Charizard, Pip The Pikachu, Freddy The Buizel, Anastasia Tremaine As The Princess, Eddie The Blaziken, Igg The Blastoise And Budd The Venusaur? That Would Be Great.
