I draw on any surface that's available to me, I have a pro drawing board that I rarely use, except for drawing most of my comic book pages, but most times I use my knee and a small table or whatever I can to draw on....

It does take some getting used to and it also depends on what paper you use too as some absorb the Sharpies ink making the lines that you draw thicker (I hate it when that happens!)
