I have a urine separating system. It seems to work just fine. I really like you video. Congradulations.

@Jacquelyndegracia ... thank you ! Urine separation works but it makes two problems of one without being necessary. In the system described the separation takes place inside the tank, solids are kept in the process for decades which isolates pathogens and a fair bit of medicine residues and the liquid exits in a stable, odor-free and bacteria free state ... so less work.

excellent ! i'm building my own composting toilet with a urine separator. So much better for the environment.

@StMeade ... Thanks ! I would avoid the urine separation as it only complicates the processing without adding benefits. Instead start your composing tank with a substancial starter bed that breaks down the urine to nitrate before it is drained out. Then the liquid comes out odor-free and safe to use and you avoid the crystalization plagueing urine separation systems.
