"We are finding overwhelming evidence for metaphysical existences." - doesn't mean anything. We can only verify what exists by the scientific method i.e. matter and forces, apart from consciousness. Consciousness is proof of its existence, not the nature of its existence. Metaphysical claims cannot counteract physical evidence, or at least they would be very weak. What metaphysical existences and evidence are you talking about?

Science=scientific method and its findings. True understanding may be impossible. It is by definition not mind-inhibiting; although the synthesis of empiricism and rationalism may be considered by some to be limiting, no better method has been found. There is ongoing discussion about the philosophy of science and consciousness. Just because many scientists make assumptions about nuances of philosophy without thinking about it does not mean the scientific method itself is wrong.

Science=true understanding. And what many have come to call science is just simply not true understanding at all, it is a mind-inhibiting system full of fixed-ideas, and is getting us nowhere. It all began to shift around the time where because one fixed-minded philosopher stated the idea of "scientific" materialism, and when people started making the false assumption that matter was "all there is" when now, we are finding overwhelming evidence for metaphysical existences.

The ethos of science is doubt. Tell me exactly what is wrong with the scientific method. The whole point is to go where the evidence leads. You have not given sufficient evidence, or even a clear argument against it. Quantum mechanics tells you the MECHANICS of physical quanta. Consciousness is an emergent property of the physical brain, though we don't fully understand or appreciate the connection between the two. Please tell me the evidence for a universal consciousness.
