As I've mentioned in the past, most Android phones are more powerful than my first few computers. The next logical step is running those desktop operating systems on our smartphone hardware. In this case, Microsoft Windows 95.

File this under "Why? Because I can". There's really no utilitarian reason why one would want to do this, other than to say that they can.

Keep in mind that Windows 95 wasn't "touch friendly" so you'll have to tap and drag the mouse cursor around, and "clicks" are tricky because the pointer is so small.

Additionally, the screen resolution is set at 640x480 (which doesn't fill the screen), you're probably not going to be able to fire up Internet Explorer and surf the web, install printers, or install additional programs.

And remember, if you don't properly shutdown, the next time you go to boot up Windows 95 you'll be met with an old-school Scandisk, even on Android.

That's false. The average android smart phone has at least 10x the RAM of an old PC, say a Windows 95 machine. The ARM Microprocessors in android phones clock up to 2300 MHz with 4 cores- old PCs had single core 300MHz CPUs. Phones are FAR more powerful than windows 95 machines.

Hahahaha. Did you try the new Android phones? If you did it was a good joke. But if your talking about the old ones, IT's so true. But no longer the case.

@BrandonC3 @Antonio Rodarte the processors are not Equivalent. Means phone system apps are encoded to be more efficient and less bulky than old windows programs. The old programming data process are heavy and slower to run. Notice this nexus struggle to open up even iexplorer which opened up faster on i486 DX 66 @ 8meg ram.. apps emulate old programs well but don't run the real deal (bulk)

Current Android Phones Usually have 1.2 GHz and about 512 mb of ram or 2 GB of RAM and plus once Intel sells chips for Nexus Devices we could probably run Windows xp. So Maybe our ARM powered tablets could become Full scale computers. But Windows 95 is old so it can run on almost every android device.
