A Jeep Liberty pulls out a beached Range Rover. Always air down!
Before we hooked up the strap, we tried moving sand away from the vehicle to allow it to move under its own power.
That was not successful.
A snatch strap was used, not a regular tow strap.
Maybe just a little too much power, but if you went slower you risked the chance of getting the recovery vehicle stuck.
The Rover must have lost momentum in the deep soft sand.
We found him spinning his tires and digging himself out with a lacrosse stick.
He didn't have any recovery tools or any required items for the beach, ie: shovel, jack board, air compressor.
He was a nice guy though. I'm glad we were nearby and able to help him out.

  • See, that is what happens without optimal clearance!

  • @kabotafan Jeeps win wars my friend. Land rovers are only good for hunting tigers and that is it. Also goes to show the type of peeps that buy those over priced, boxes on wheels. Do yourself a favor and stay in country club where it is safer.

  • How could you not be fan of jeep, toyota or nissan there is something seriously wrong with you

  • @15numba15 I love my Jeep too but those Range Rovers aren't made for these kinda situations. They're luxury cars. SUV's to be exact lol.

  • lol $120,000 and it cant even drive through sand. Jeep all day!!!! love my Jeep

  • Not a big fan of Jeeps. Don't like a cheap ass uncomfortable interior. But I'd rather buy a cheap ass interior Jeep thn that Crap Rover. Keep it on the concrete where it belongs...

  • Leave it to a jeep to come to the rescue

  • The jeeps really just better because it's so much lighter. I don't think the rr would have gotten stuck of he took out enough air and adjusted the suspension, but again the driver needs to know what he's doing

  • @Skarre2 Agreed, but it takes an ignorant off roader to drive a mammoth Range Rover onto sand with road tires. So I can conclude that the Jeep driver is smarter for two reasons. 1) Not buying a Rover 2) If he plays in the sand, he has appropriate gear.

  • When it comes to traction tires are 90%. To compare vehicles you need the same tires on both of them. The RR had motorway spec. on road tires. The Jeep did not. It takes a pretty ignorant off roader to not recognize that.
