Over the last few weeks, the world has watched as some of the best-known brand names in US capitalism have either crumbled or been bailed out by taxpayers. You could be forgiven for thinking that the financial crisis is all about men in suits, whether on Wall Street or in Washington. But the meltdown did not begin on Wall Street and it did not begin just a few weeks ago. It has been building for years as US workers have struggled with stagnant wages and rising costs - whether for housing, fuel or health care. For the past year, Inside USA has been following those stories.

  • Then others say there is nothing wrong with globalization and outsourcing. Penn and Teller really are lying sonova whores if you watch this. Wal-Mart has helped to destroy the US economy along with many other rich corporations.

I have never supported Wal-Mart nor outsourcing of American jobs or mass importing of cheap shit foreign goods and this last part just proves it ever more.

Thank the gods for Aljazeera, the only REAL news out there today.

  • Agreed... Al Jazeera needs to be seen by everyone. The mainstreem media is scared to run stories like these.

  • I wouldn't trust Pastor Reid. People have been organizing for years and we got nowhere.

How about we start encouraging the use of birth control? How about placing wayward youth in menial jobs, to give them self-respect? Teens in the inner-cities are less likely to have after-school jobs. If you want to talk about change, then that's the CHANGE that has to happen.

  • it is not ok homey

  • Well its a way of life worth clinging to. Crabbing 'til sunset beats menial cubicle/office work or retail labor any day.

  • 9.59 The man threatened to kill himself.
