  • A cool analysis.

I can't understand a word, and by verse 2 the singer is all but drowned out by the overuse of the midrange. What you refer to as countermelody I am starting to feel like it's more like cacophony. There is a disconnect from his lullaby style of singing and the strength of the accompaniment. Maybe it's YouTube? God knows they have butchered my EQ on my own songs. Generally speaking, taking this long to come to climax is a bad idea as 99% of listeners will turn the station by then.

  • @ShogaNinja Well I never noticed all those things you tell us. Thank you for your expert insight.

  • I wasn't trying to be harsh I was merely pointing out that perhaps that is the reason the song was never released. It is for this reason that I do not attempt to make popular music but rather focus on soundtrack music. Having grown up with a video game controller in my hand soundtrack music is what I feel most akin to. I have learned a few good tricks to apply in my own string compilations thanks to you so please keep posting tutorials. I am working on a Conan-esque symphony comp right now.

  • I thought you did a great job there. Very nice way to use text as "subtext"
