On July 24, 2010, I began my ascent to the summit of Mt Fuji in Japan. The first night I climbed, it was hailing with a lot of rain and lightning. So I stayed at a hostel at Station 7. I began to climb again at around 6:30 am after a hearty breakfast of ramen soup with beef, and I reached the summit at 9:30 am. I passed many Asian climbers and was the only American at the summit during the time I spent up there. It was a very difficult challenge, and I was able to capture most of the climb and some wonderfully beautiful scenery. Climbing to the top of Japan without oxygen or climbing sticks proved difficult, yet as I approached the summit, my adrenaline kicked in full blast! This shows how thin the air became as I reached the peak, yet my spirits were very high. What a day that I will never forget!
