  • @FellaNnyc They have been playing with plastic phoneic resin forever now, the formula of the plastic might change but its still all plastic. The rubber has not changed. The cloth has changed a LOT for sure, probaly changed the most of everything. Reduced deflection doesnt matter, tts straight pool, the shots are short. Things have gotten harder: they had high lead content chalk. I have shot with both and you realize the difference quick after going to unleaded chalk, you miscue easy.

  • Foul on all balls -- that's VERY strict rules, especially paying in a jacket and tie. Players today have no clue how easy they've got it.

  • Instead of clay balls they would be playing with the new polymer synthetic balls making breaking them open and controlling them much easier now. The Cloth available today is now of a higher quality and makes the cue ball glide like it's on ice. Pool cues are now made with lower deflection makes pocketing the ball with more accuracy. Imagine how much better these players would've been using today's equipment.

  • 1:59 great shot of balsis

  • Back in the day they struck the ball with authority, control and confidence....qualities that are lacking today.

  • nice run but man he got lucky with that combos

  • may he rest in peace the best in history lets never forget the cranes, mosconis, and fats, our grandparents generations! greatest ever

  • patterns patterns more pattern position. he gets outta line sometimes but shot selection allows him to play position for 2 balls.

  • Well, yeah, I know that. Still though, his breaks are LESS powerful than most of the great players I've played against. It was just an observation...he's so money on position.

  • in straight pool you dont break hard at all...its pretty much a safty break so that the opponent doesnt have a clear shot on the next ball :)
