I think u're wrong LilacTime, the new album is a great listen & has tunes that are amongst his best. I think I might know what u mean - the current pedal steel/radio 2/ country-folk phase can be a lil difficult to penetrate at times - sonically speaking the Astronauts/Music in Colours/Duffy/I Love My Friends period will always be my fave, but the strength of his song-writing is more than still intact (maybe with the exception of Keep Going). He prob wouldn't thank me 4 it, but SD IS a god!
As someone who has been evangelical about the works of SAJD since the days of 'Kiss Me' I must admit that ever since 'Looking for a day in the night'the band appear to have been treading water - was excited about this being a return to form but the album was a big disappointment!
This song is simply sublime. A great return after 4 years away. Should be a hit but won't be just because it's Stephen Duffy (and let's face it, we all like to have our little secrets in life don't we?). I wonder why BBC Radio 2 aren't playing the life out of it? Can't wait for the album!
Once again evoking the spirit of Kerouac's On the Road. This is their best song in quite a while. Should be a hit! It's fantastic that new Stephen Duffy & The Lilac Time material is coming out soon! You folks in the UK are lucky; you at least have a shot at seeing them play live and have a better chance at getting the CD when it's released. I don't even know where to pre-order the CD from a stateside source. Oh, and check out Shack's Time Machine disc. "Wanda" is a great track...
It's summer! I'm gonna be driving to somewhere to get to nowhere now!

I think Stephen has always been nostalgic, but what for I'm unsure - a mythical place that perhaps never existed?

Lovely tune, good video too. Stephen Duffy is incredibly underrated.

no-beard-fraction. I'm really looking forward to the album and to see TLT playing in Germany (late November, as Stephen wrote in his blog)
