Palestine Solidarity in South Korea

Koreans and foreingers living in Korea have been gathering for vigils and demonstrations since the beginning of the Israeli invasion of Gaza.
On Jan. 10, 2009, about 300 people from 75 peace organizations gathered in the center of Seoul, South Korea to demand the cessation of the Israeli massacre of the people in Gaza as well as its siege of Gaza. The protest followed former protests and candle light vigils in Seoul such as on Dec. 30, 2008, Jan. 5 and 6, 2009.

As a Korean politically active in U.S. and as a Korean who share solidarity with Palestinian struggle, it is amazing to see fellow Koreans who stand for justice for Palestinian people.

As Noam Chomsky once putted, it's not simply an issue of Palestine vs. Israel but it is Palestine vs. Israel and U.S. And as long as Korea is U.S.'s client state who supports their imperialism in the Middle East, it is absolutely crucial for Korean leftists should unite for Palestinian struggles.
